Cheap International Air Flights - Choosing When to Fly
By Kenny Yong
Time is an essential factor in flying. With the right timing and techniques, you can get cheap international flight tickets.
Here are the ways....
When you fly, the first thing you should answer is “where?”. After you have determined that, the next question you should answer is “when?”.
“Where” determines how much you have to pay for an international flight. The principle is, the further you want to go; the more expensive your ticket would be. This is basic and we cannot to anything about it.
“When” is where you can take control of the ticket price. The time, day, seasons, and month is essential in determining how much you have to pay for an international flight. And with all these in consideration, you should know how to take advantage of the “when” so that at your next flight, you will have your cheap international flight tickets at hand.
Time of the day
If you fly during the day, chances are, you will arrive at a busy airport. But try to fly during the night especially at the early morning. Here, you can notice that there are less flyers simply because there are less flights. But that is not the end of the story. Passengers don’t want to fly on these hours. And with fewer passengers, there are more available seats. And applying the law of supply and demand, airlines tend to give cheaper seats during the time of the day or the earliest hour of the day just to make sure the plane is flying with as many passengers as it could.
If you don’t mind waking up at midnight and rushing at the airport in the latest hour of the day, then you are simply entitled to cheap international flight tickets. Check on the availability of the flight and assess the prices.
Day
It is given that airports are busy during the weekends simply because many people went to their hometowns and spend these days with their relatives. Also, it is important to note that the most expensive days to fly are Monday and Friday. If you want to get some savings, avoid these dates. If you are not in an urgent call to fly at a specified day, then fly from Tuesday to Thursday. Also check the availability of the flight during these time and start your booking from there.
Seasons
If the country you are aiming to visit has some scheduled events on certain time duration, then you may want to avoid them. If it is peak season, already assume that not only the flights are expensive but also the accommodations. If you want to avoid these dates, then you can take advantage to the savings it can bring. Make a research about the peak and off-season on the country you are targeting at.
Month
Scheduling your international trip off the holidays is the best way to avoid overbooked and busy flights. It is also the best way to get enough savings on your air tickets. Avoiding holidays especially during Christmas and New Year is very advisable if you are not catching any appointments on that dates. Meanwhile, flying during the winter season except of course during Christmas and New Year is the best way to get savings.
